'Point and Calm'

Point and Calm is a simple ruleset change that turns Quake SP on its' head - you can't kill monsters, only calm them down!

Your shotgun has been modified into an instant hit calm beam, which will make any monster hit cease hostility for two seconds. In order to preserve level progress in certain maps damage activated entities will still take damage from the beam, and any target assigned to a monster will be activated the first time it is hit by the beam. Though you can still pick up weapons (in order to activate pickup-activated targets like the nailgun door in E1M1) you can't use anything other than the calm beam.

You'll need to carefully plan ahead, be patient and exploit monster infighting as much as possible in order to survive in P&C.. Since you can't hurt monsters you'll have to rely on your wits in order to get past them in cramped maps like E1M4. Sometimes the best way to clear a group of calmed monsters is to drag in an angry one!
